Support for Windows 7 is ending: Here is what you need to know.

After January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for PCs running Windows 7. Now is the time to upgrade to Windows 10.

What does end of support mean?

If you continue to use Windows 7 after support has ended, your PC will still work, but it may become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Your PC will continue to start and run, but Microsoft will no longer provide the following support for your business.

  1. No technical support
  2. No software updates
  3. No security updates

To avoid security risks and viruses, as your IT partner we recommend you upgradeĀ to Windows.

What happens if I continue to use windows 7?

You can continue to use Windows 7, but once support ends your PC will become more vulnerable to security risks. Windows will operate, but you will stop receiving security and feature updates.

What does windows 7 end of life mean for my security?

There are serious security concerns if you continue to use Windows 7 past the end of life date. After 14th of January 2020 Microsoft will not take responsibility for any security breaches that happen to Windows 7. With new Malware risk being developed, you risk being hacked, losing data or even a fine for not being GDPR compliant. The fact is, the sooner you can get away from Windows 7 and switch to Windows 10, the better.
